Have a say in where your contribution goes!

United Way of Escambia County's Funds Distribution process allows United Way donors to come together to make recommendations for how to allocate the undesignated contributions from the campaign.

The only requirement to be a Funds Distribution volunteer is that you be a current United Way of Escambia County donor.

Funds Distribution volunteers:
· Give an estimated 20-25 volunteer hours over 8 weeks (February through April).

· Take a detailed look at each program requesting funding, tour the program, and listen to oral presentations with plenty of chances to ask questions about how the money will be spent.

· Are critical to ensuring that contributions from thousands of donors are spent in the most effective way possible.

New volunteers should plan to attend the following Orientation Session:
  • Thursday, Feb. 11, 2009, 9 to 10:30 a.m., at Saltmarsh, Cleveland and Gund, 900 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola
To sign up or learn more, call Rob Engel at 444-7140 or e-mail rob@unitedwayescambia.org.

Concerned about the time commitment?

You will be asked to choose the day of the week that works best with your schedule!

Your contributions at work!

Last year, volunteers on the 2009-10 Funds Distribution Committee selected 39 programs at 27 agencies to receive funds. Click here to see a list of the 2009-10 Funded Programs, which receive funding above and beyond donor designations.
